Infinity Castle Movie 1 has now become the first anime movie to surpass 600 Million dollars worldwide.
Estimated gross as of Sunday are around 610 to 620 million dollars. This means that it has quite possibly beaten Superman at the box office. This could be the 2nd time in history that a manga adaptation is the highest grossing film from a comic book (1st was Mugen train in 2020).

With the legs its showing, it could reach 675 Million Dollars with the current markets. It will most likely be released in China which means that the box office could be significantly higher.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

you should really put a news source link on your news posts but anyway with a reported budget of 20 million only thats a lot of profit for the production committee also most of the budget is spend on advertisements too so anime production budgets are really low

Most of these reports comes from individual trackers or some reliable group covering the movie's box office that's why I dont add a source. Even the source which I mentioned above is one or two days behind actuals.

I dont think Demon slayer success will have any impact in how general public will look at anime... The stereotype that "Anime = Cartoon" or "Animation is meant for kids" is still prevalent even today. But it is nice to see an anime being popular enough to break all box office records.... Its a huge success indeed and a stepping stone for the industry as a whole.

I saw the movie the week after it released in the US. Kind of wish I saw it in sub, but the movie was pretty good overall.

Will it make more money than Avatar: fire & Ash and Zootopia 2?

yeah you're absolutely right, you could see lots of families with their children watching the movie. As long as it makes companies invest in anime industry more I don't have any problem, but if they start doing things more directed towards children I'm out

@Old_School_Akira Highly unlikely. These 2 films will make billions of dollars.
Demon slayer won't make a billion unless it explodes in China. There is a high chance that it will beat Wicked 2 at the box office which is another film expected to earn a lot.

Congratulations to Kimetsu no Yaiba. After so many bad news, I'm glad Kimetsu is dominating and giving Anime strong recognition around the world.
