My first light novel, discussion

Light novel
I am currently writing my first light novel. Yay!
It is an isekai setting where a weapons manufacturer (that obviously hates his life) gets transported in another world where he... makes even more weapons! I love the city-building vibe of certain fantasy stories and would like to recreate it, but I wonder sometimes how to recreate it best. Games like dwarf fortress are a huge inspiration.
I have a close person to me playing as my editor and giving me valuable advice.
One of their advice was that my female character lacks depth... I truly fell into the hole so many male authors fall into. Any advice on that would be appreciated or people reading it and giving some extra advice!
