anitrendz OR animecorner?
Wondering which site has bigger used community for more correct rating of anime of the week. Because i can't see a stat in anitrendz that says how many people voted. In animecorner it says beneath the poll's results for last week: 8,449 votes.

It's interesting for me to see the growth and trending. like The Apothecary Diaries is a legend anime, it's ranked first in anitrendz with the toilet Hanako anime being 6th, meanwhile in animecorner that Toilet hanako anime is 1st above The apothecary Diaries and solo leveling? and i'm like, isn't it some average anime or something how the fk is it above super poplular animes.
On another note, i don't watch harem animes, but i know that the 100 girlfriend is popular, in anitrendz its 2nd place. while in animecorner it's 11 place. so idk how big each community is, and idk what type of viewers are in each of those communities, because the ratings are very different.

I don't vote in any "anime of the week" polls. I thought it was something typical for, dunno, websites like Reddit, where folks need to reassure themselves about their tastes' quality.

Nowhere, because there's no point in comparing weekly episodes.

What I saw corner has more battle shounen bias trends has SoL/romance bias. Also Corners has more bot interface. That's why one particular anime dominates szn like DAL or Bleach. Trends i comparatively less. But trends is more prude comparatively. Corner rates harem and "controversial" shows a bit better ie Mushoku Tensie.

Idk which is bigger but I find results of trends but more aligned to me.

@WaterMage Thanks for your input, but you mentioned that trends has more SOL/Romance bias but then you also say you that trends is more prude, why would prude put harem 100 girlfriends anime as a second ranked?
And can you explain me wtf is that Toilet Hanako anime? why it's ranked high so much? isn't it some average show for younger audience?

I compared their twitter accounts. Trendz got 1.1 million followers, Corner has 175k, so there's the answer.

@Ron014 because that's PEAK.
I said comparatively which means won't be as high as it should. Harem ones placed generally lower in trends. This is not a pattern said in stone obviously there will be outliers specially if 100 girlfriends is involved.

I didn't watched Hanko kun. But the plot seems interesting enough.

@Ron014 I have seen DAL crowned AOTS over Mushoku as well as Konosuba, Dungeon Meshi. One weekly chart is nothing.
Don't care about those too much.

I don't. There was a time when I used to vote on both sites, but now I don't think this voting is worth my time. My preferences often align with Reddit Karma ranking.

@Chronon Reddit is cancer, especially r/anime, Imagine going to that sub because you think you can communicate with other fans who love your anime, instead they stomp you like you don't even deserve to exist. its downvote system allows mobs to harass people to the point your karma is below what the sub requires to create a post. I experienced it on a daily basis personally including in DMs, i was lynched due to my identity, not because anything said, but only because of my profile picture. Imagine saying only the two words "thank you" and getting -40 karma, you then report their hate comments but unless its homophobic reddit will respond to you with the comment "There's nothing hateful or identity targeting in those comments". I rather listen to 10 year olds preferences than deal with that cancer community again.

I recently voted 3 or 4 times in animecorner poll, but just for one category ๐Ÿ˜†
But I didn't even check the results ๐Ÿ˜‚

I don't really care about results in some random pages, but if somebody like and have fun with it, then I'm fine with it ๐Ÿ˜Š

I haven't heard of these sites before.

It looks like you can select multiple shows? Are you just voting for the ones you're watching, or the ones you think are the best?

What is the point of these sites? Do you visit them, vote and then leave? Do they have other account-specific features? Are there communities around them, with discussion and activities? If there aren't, why would you visit them, every week?

Nowhere. More BS ratings. For generic sludge to get voted up to the top of some list regardless of how good it actually is.

We already have the Top 50 list for that, and it's as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

@perseii i'll explain it from my perspective. but first, trendz have 1.1m followers on twitter, corner has 175k. on discord trendz have 7k members, while corner has 3k. Now as for all the other questions idk, you can check their sites and see for yourself again, i didn't really check it because i'm not interested in them. For the voting itself you don't need an account they remember your IP, so once you vote, you're unable to vote again until the next week voting begins. Now for the question why you do it, you can vote for all the shows you liked or think are the best, now FOR ME the way i see it, it's not a compression of weekly episodes to other animes' weekly episodes like some other said here, it's more about what animes are trending more popular each week, so let's say week 1 or week 2, you gonna have more people who vote more shows because the season just started and there's a lot of new animes, as more weeks progress people gonna start deciding to drop shows or think that some of the votes they picked prior disappointed them, so AT LEAST FOR ME, i vote what i thought was very good, but my opinion will change and my vote number will decrease to what i think are the best animes at the half way point of the season. There are different polls, but in trendz i just participate in the "current season animes vote" which is "top anime of the week" because that's the only one i care about, you can find it in the poll page at the bottom next to the heart logo poll.

@Ron014 Yeah, I checked out those sites, thanks for explaining how you use it.

But I'm still not sure why you'd vote there... I guess there's some pleasure in supporting your favorite anime and seeing it rank high on a chart. And I see you can participate in discussions on the discord (missed that earlier).

I'm personally fine with MAL, where I can read people's opinions and discussions in addition to ratings. The only interesting part with these poll sites is how different parts of the internet rank anime differently. I should check out Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun soon...

@Adnash "where folks need to reassure themselves about their tastes' quality."
You literally looking down on others and insult those who use it, thinking they do that for that reason because you decided so.

I'm perfectly chill, if your response to someone telling you to chill is to tell them to chill, you're not doing very well. Quit searching for drama please

@perseii Sure you can see that from that way, supporting is great, but in overall i enjoy seeing what's trending up every few weeks and what i assumed good is trending down. There's no reason to compare MAL to this, because it offers weekly monitoring MAL doesn't, again i dont participate in it other than voting, but it doesn't hurt spending few minutes once a week or 2 to check what has more success, what's more disappointing/average. MAL is more for the overall end of the anime rating (even tho i do 3-episodes no spoiler reviews/or end anime no spoiler reviews here)

As you mentioned, I didn't pick to watch Toilet Hanako kun, i skipped it, seemed average for me and not something i'll watch, but for whatever reason, this anime is trending high, so now thanks for the trending results i decided to check it out as well. So as you see there's a benefit for it. It doesn't hurt to check Trendz once in a while. I made this post because i was interested if there's other people using bigger sites, but it seems not.

@Ron014 You accused me of starting drama, so I briefly explained what I meant. Yet, you can't stop seething about my post and are definitely gaslighting me by claiming that I said people who want reassurance about the quality of their tastes are somehow negative just for being themselves (what the heck?!), or that what they're doing is bad in any way. Did I say they were? No. Did I say it was bad? No, it's no different from, say, having discussions about every single episode of an anime. Did I seem to be looking down on them? No, it was as neutral as it could be, because my only contact with those "anime of the week" polls was hearing about them being held on some subreddits that, at least from what I've heard, had a decent number of the people I mentioned in my first post.

So I suggest you stop imagining things or trolling, because I honestly can't tell what your problem is right now. You might start pestering other people in the thread whose posts were far more negative about your hobby than mine, because I'm not willing to reply to your future ragebaits. Have a nice day.
