| Seems like this has been tough to find but luckily it came out in HK earlier this week and I managed to reserve some time in the evening to do so. Found this to be a pretty solid movie, in general. It could've been more fleshed out had it been for more than an hour and a half in length but it got the right elements from the tv series, so I can live with this. Narumi-san, or Kamen Rider Skull, was a pretty cool guy and took time to accept our MC but his demise felt very forced. What could've been Cyclone-Skull, I suppose. I totally forgot that Akiko-san was his daughter until in the very end, there was that little exchange as Shoutarou was asleep. Shoutarou's first meeting with Philip was very different than what I'd in mind but it's good to see that they got their combos in time against the Museum family. It was interesting to see that Museum turned out to be Machi's predecessor and the fact that they're aware of the danger that comes with W means it'll just be all the more difficult for the crew. Tokime x Shoutarou is too good! He straight up falling asleep after that embrace is too hilarious. And of course, it goes without saying, but her character design still slaps! Museum's eldest daughter's design was spot on too. Here's to hoping for a sequel ~ |
