How often do you fast-forward flashbacks/transformation scenes in anime?

I used to never skip them was I was new to anime. Nowadays I tend to fast-forward redundant flashbacks. Very common in longer series in general. I was rewatching ranma and skipped a episode for that. Have you had enough of flashbacks?

I also skip transformations.

I always watch the flash backs. What is wrong with that?

Recaps are skippable, so I won't judge someone if they skip recaps.

Such a shameful habit has never crossed my mind until now.

You will catch me dead in the ground before you find me fast-forwarding through a Sailor Moon transformation scene, but I can give and take the rest of it. I watch some stuff in a higher speed anyways and don't mind those flashbacks/transformation scenes flying by, so that's similar.

Depends I'll watch flashblacks but very often the same flashbacks play 2 or 3 times in one episode. Then I might be slightly annoyed and hit the skip button. Like Bungou Stray Dogs and that one scene about the MC. Must have worked though, cuz I remember it after so many years. LOL But honestly I can watch Shanks put the hat on Luffy over and over.

Transformations scenes are an art. I will never skip.

Transformation sequences pretty much never, at least in modern anime even if they show it over and over usually the transformation is abbreviated after the first few times, not to mention, sometimes there might be subtle differences (like I'm pretty sure in Kill la kill there's at least a couple transformation variations). Even in older shows that are not so concerned about respecting your time and on the contrary might show the full transformation everytime to fill airtime, its not so bad. Even the longest transformations are not gonna be over 15ish seconds. Maybe after the 50th time you start to feel the urge to skip but generally I find that they are brief enough to not have to skip. It also helps that they usually polish the transformations more knowing that the footage will be re-used many times.

Flashbacks are a bit more iffy for me. Even if its the first time seeing a flashback, depending on the timing and the contents of the flashback it can be tiring for me. I remember when watching Haikyuu to the top they had a flashback of Kenma training and what it was like for him joining the Volley team, and it actually caused me to put the series on hold lol XD I don't give a shit about Kenma, the flashback is irrelevant extra information for something that was already "sidetracking" (i.e. what Nekoma was doing at the time whereas what I wanted to see was what Karasuno was doing), so yeah it was rough. If they start showing the same flashback over and over that does really wanna make me skip most of the time cause I already don't like flashbacks. That being said if its a 2-3 second flashback to give context to an action, repeating just one moment, or better yet, just an image that flashes on the screen, then obviously that does not need skipping. Generally the types of flashbacks I skip are 1) flashbacks of things that just happened, because I find them offensive to my intelligence and a waste of time 2) flashbacks that see heavy repetition (e.g. if its something they have shown 5 or more times). If I know what happens and I don't particularly feel the urge to see it again that's a skip.

I really don't do anything about them. If it's recent, I may read as they play out. But that's it.

Transformation is fine.

Flashbacks get skipped if they're reused from previous episodes.

Never skipped a flashback. If you actually mean recaps though, those are very skippable.

I don't normally skip transformations, but that's the only way I could watch Sailor Moon, too much repeat footage in that to watch normally.

Recaps, almost always. Flashbacks, sometimes if it's something that just happened in the show. Transformations, never.

@Deathko Yes, it does depend. Gainax recaps are usually worth sticking around for too, except in KareKano.

Recaps... I guess it depends on the show. If it's just your average recap, then no, I tend to skip those. I stay for them if they have some meat to offer, like gags or unrevealed info.
Transformations, however? They're a core part of the mecha magic. "TRRRRANSFORM!" is something a true mecha fan loves to hear EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Because yes, transforming mecha are the best, and are outranked only by GATTAI mecha.

Never, unless you include recaps that are usually in the beginning of a show - I skip that if I binge a show. Otherwise, I watch the full flashback and transformation scenes - no skipping/fast-forwarding.

I do sometimes. When the fight is ready to erupt, I get impatient watching the magical girl transformations which is same in every episode, so at those moments I skip it to cut the tension and get to the action scenes quickly

If it's a cool transformation, I'll in fact rewind it a couple of times.

Machine Gattais are a big example
