"Umm, if anything is as easy as having a dream, kinda like not drawing an entire anime but have a machinery thing do it, then why bother? I'll just go sleep and have a dream, haha."

Those who create problems are not the sympathizers but the antagonists. People against AI are people against progress. They are those who, when electricity began to spread and develop on infrastructures, revolutionizing human society, were against it. The people who resist are the people who are not capable of adapting to changes, they are scared of new things that they don't know. This is a generational problem because people who are born in a society where AI already exists have no fear of it, indeed they can only think that it is stupid and retrograde not to exploit similar technology. Like all technologies there are dangerous implications but the danger is not in the technology itself but in the use that man makes of it so the danger is that man is not ready, just like giving a gun to a monkey. For this reason it must be wisely adjusted and perfected so that the monkey does not shoot itself in the face.

@LenRea There's no reasoning with anyone who has a romanticized version of something in their head, no matter what side they're on. These type people are always focused on the positives rather than acknowledging any potential negative impacts because it doesn't fit their narrative. Political leanings have nothing to do with it. This mindset is present on both ends, it's just their focuses are different.

AI on it's own could be a great tool.

What matters is how it's used. I promise you every coder is praying to chat gpt sama before bed with how helpful that shit is.

Another cool use is how some youtuber/streamers like code mico or doug doug make AI characters that they can go against, or argue with, which makes for some really entertaining content. Like there is a video where doug doug plays a game called peggle, while the game mascot quizzes and shit talks him about the game. It's hilarious stuff.

it's also THE perfect stock photo generator.

In the near future it could also be great for colouring in animation.

It's already great at proof reading.

So like.... it's pretty damn useful.

@APolygons2 I agree with this. AI is great as a tool to empower artists to make things that they otherwise couldn't (like that DougDoug stream you mentioned, or the game "Suck Up" (which I would recommend looking into if you haven't heard about it)), and to help speed up tedious tasks, but it is not good as a replacement for artists, animators, writers, or other creatives, and there are tasks in which it not only fails as a tool, but will never be able to successfully accomplish, such as translation/localization from Japanese into English.

@ShatteredSans Yep, and this what no one seems to get. AI can't make art, but an Artist can use AI in the process of making art.

There is a really interesting video that Tale's foundry made, who is one of my favourite channels because it's one of the few places where I can see someone else have a genuine passion for creativity and storytelling. And he tests AI to see how it writes, and I think anyone who thinks AI can't be used as a tool NEEDS to watch it.

It is actually fascinating.
