| can I watch the trilogy without watching the main series? will I miss out on too much? I know the movies cut stuff but is it worth going through 50ish episodes when I can watch a trilogy of around 6-hour runtime? i want everyone's opinion please don't hold back and correct me if I'm wrong anywhere TIA. |

| The trilogy is fine. I've watched both the films and the series and the films prepare you enough for the rest of the franchise. |

| The trilogy was pretty much designed to be watched without watching the full series. It hits all the major plot points, just in a more concise manner. I watched the series by myself first, before watching the trilogy with my sister (who was new to Gundam at the time), and it hit me how well the trilogy actually manages to tell the full story in all its detail and nuance in just six hours. I now actually kinda prefer the flow of the movies compared to the series. |
