1) Oh, wait. The soul doesn't return to Mother after transforming into a tree? Does that mean Auntie will be reborn as a human again?
But how can the souls go back to Mother, then, if not even by getting "cursed"? Or do they have to visit Mother's home (in that lake) while they still have their memories, after transforming into a "beast"?

2) Why is everyone saying Auntie abandoned her when leaving her in the woods? She literally saved her life. The soldiers/church would have killed her right away. That way she at least had a chance to survive. Even if small, it's way bigger than if she hadn't done that.
Sure, maybe instead of living "safely" in the inside, she could've ran away with her, but still, she saved her life. And Shiva lives. That's what counts.

3) Shiva's right, though. Maybe Sensei hasn't turned into a tree yet, because Shiva keeps reminding him about certain things? While that fate is inevitable, they could still have "postponed" the day to come. Who knows.
Either way: don't keep things from a loved one, just because you think they couldn't handle the truth. That's not your choice to make, especially if it concerns someone that they love.

4) Also: let's hope they don't swim into the lake with the soldier watching. If the soldier sees all this, and survives, he'll probably run back to the inside and tells them about it. Wouldn't want to give Mother's location to the enemy.

Teacher should've probably at least warned Shiva about what will likely happen with her aunt in the near future, that way maybe it wouldn't have come as such a big shock, and it would have happened anyways so you might as well prepare her for it ;-;

you know it's dark outside, when you go outside, and it's dark. -_-
