that's just brutal

dude is the youngest of 3 brothers, with a decent age difference between him and the 2 eldest. they leave home to make a name for themselves while he's forced to remain and take over their clan and protect it in their absence. in seemingly his first real combat, he protects his clan with the technique he had been diligently training his entire life. but at great cost, suffering severe cold/ice poisoning

his 2 eldest brothers are infamously defeated and one goes into seclusion for years, not returning home or seeing his brothers again until literally just moments before the youngest brother dies. dying using that same technique to once again protect the family, knowingly sacrificing his own life (which wasn't going to last longer than a few more months anyways) to take out the enemy family's strongest member

total sacrifice for his clan. that's devastating. that was his entire life, in service to his clan; selflessness, really
