Xiu's infiltration was to get even with the traitor, what a way to do it, great fight.
Not the useless Princess again, looks like she will return.

The worst choice in any diplomacy/intelligence history. Being already regarded as the Marquis of the Far East, wielding great power to unite dwarves, orcs etc. in the future where you already know the geological importance of the land and under your control, making them loyal to yourself to use later against the Demon God Race, infiltrating the hierarchial steps of the Demon Race and making moves against the traitor without attacking him openly and could assasinate other high-ranking officials or killing the ones who can be counted as having high potential to become high ranks in the military of Demon Race. This guy, Xiu, literally just stabbed the no-name traitor human guy who has already been bullied and treated badly among Demon Race and threw all the opportunities that already he got, even the trust of the King of Demon Race. Literally nothing else that comes into mind could be worse than this choice.

So it seems Xiu was indeed pretending to join the God's race, his demeanor in the previous episode was too convincing that it felt like he switched sides for that ending plot-twist.
Xiu kills Pingjing in the middle of the banquet and slays his way through the noble demons awakening his demonic power, only to get cornered and take Princess Kardan hostage. Hey, she became helpful once this series lol

What a dumb plan, I guess that Duke Pingjing would have intel on the Zichuan family situation to a degree but going out of his way to infiltrate an enemy territory, swear loyalty and ridicule himself in front of his prisoner of war comrades is just too excessive. Of course it would have been better to choose a more crucial target like the heir to Ka'dun's throne instead of a traitor human. Such a waste of development.
