So I watched the first 2 episodes of the Anime and really loved it so I decided to binge read the Manga and definitely glad I did. This series had my attention from start to finish unlike Death Note which only had my interest one the first half with L. I'll definitely watch the Anime fully but not until it 100% completed.

I was looking for this post! I watched the anime up to 22nd out of 24 eps and now that I couldn't wait for the ending, I with the finished the manga. It was actually a very good, well-thought ending which was incredibly consistent with the message and overall tone of the show. People just aren't able to handle non-happy endings. I wonder why did they even read this manga in the first place if they wanted a happy ending.

I think the anime did it better personally because Yonedas amazing VA and the music throughout the last few minutes. Also them ending it and then a big title card shows up was frightening. Its definitely one of my favorite endings of all time, yet the majority hates it. While I know Platinum End has flaws like some things in the first half, whenever we got into the second part after Poliman was gone, things got extremely interesting. Definitely a high 9 out of 10 personally. I'm glad there are people that actually like the ending.

Well, ending of First half of death note (aka mass murderer getting free rein and advantageous position to continued his quest) and ending of platinum end are both similar type of ending despite the superficial opposite story scenario. So it definitely make sense why u would like it.

But I am glad obha did second half of death note which is there reason why I like death note because it gets its message correct (Unlike platinum end which hits some where around prosuicide and meaninglessness of life). Also Obha's characters are unlikeable for me. In death note, it works very well because its a story of villans. In bakuman, its passable because he has to adhere to reality. But in platinum end, it is the worst because he was trying to writes likeable characters which is kind of impossible for him. All in all platinum end is like school day with unlikable characters trying to bank over a subversive shock producing ending.
