I'm about to watch Tokyo Godfathers a couple of hours from now. And for the past couple of weeks, I've seen this anime being thrown around as one of the rare anime titles that centers on the holiday of Christmas.

So I set up this page to remind me you people of MAL to enjoy your own holiday season amidst all the noise of our current situation. And if you really want to watch animes on the day of Christmas Eve, then I recommend you to watch this anime like RIGHT NOW, because this is truly a timely thing to watch by now.

(Also if you looked and checked at this forum past the Xmas holiday, then its your choice to watch this anime or skip along with your day)

How did you guys like it? I've known about this movie for a while (I like the director), And I also decided to watch it yesterday.

Such a wonderful movie by Satoshi. It's so wholesome and poignant but most importantly encompasses all the great elements of a Christmas movie. Definitely one of the best Christmas movies out there.

Merry Christmas everybody! I’m a little late to the forum, but I just finished watching the film and I really loved it! Seeing all three characters do their best to return Kiyoko to her mother was so fun, but also really poignant to watch. It was also really beautifully animated, an absolute treat to watch! I absolutely adored the background art!

I just watched Tokyo Godfathers for the first time on New Year's Eve. While it starts off on Christmas Eve, it culminates on/around New Year's Day, so I feel like it is really appropriate to watch any time between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day (and maybe even days before and after).

It's not one of those Christmas movies that's so concentrated on Christmas Day itself (or the days leading up to Christmas) that you'd feel awkward watching it in the week after Christmas. I hope this post helps anyone like me who blinked and suddenly Christmas Eve had turned into New Year's Eve.

It is an excellent movie all around. I loved the unique characters and dynamic animation, parallels and themes between characters, and all of the twists and turns. In such a short time you really get to learn so much about these characters, their backgrounds, and their complex emotions they are working through as their lives become disrupted in a majorly unexpected way. I'm already thinking about rewatching it again next holiday season.

It's easily one of the best Christmas films ever made.

I just wish there were more anime films(or series) like it. We only have the occasional Christmas special episode, like the one in Toradora.

One of my absolute favorite anime movies of all time, and even is up there with the best Studio Ghibli ones.
