The pacing is really great in the novels compared to the anime. It's mostly random non-linear events unfolding but the confession was very well-timed. I felt most hooked on his past and how much sense it makes for it to change him as a person. Since he was an isolated person, his views became warped and it is understandable that he expected to be loved by someone visiting him. I felt bad for both parties.

It seems like Itsuki likes Nayuta afterall... the plot moving forward. On the other hand, Haruto hasn't been able of making any progress with Miyako. I really enjoyed the bonus story. It's a bit sad that Itsuki ended up cutting ties with Ayane. I hope that he can meet her again in the future so they can become friends again.
