| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Lovely Kaga actually won and while not by much it's still quite a victory for him! Quite glad actually to see this develop like that yet still a bit of a shame Hayato didn't win. That said on the last episode of the previous season, the franchise pretty much ended for me last season and this was more or less a good sidestory to the overall story rather than a sequel. The wedding scene at the end really did make it a nice closure though, all in all a pretty solid watch! |

| It was a nice watch, like you said @RafaelDeJongh it felt more like a side story then an actual sequel but it was nice to see Kaga and Nagumo's development through it. We got really blessed with the animators for those OAVs, it was really beautiful from beginning to the end. I'm a bit sad that I've finally finished this anime but it got a great ending, I'm really happy about how good this anime became over the seasons, mostly compared to the first one. |
| This final season felt a little underwhelming compared to the previous one (even taking into account the whining Hayato arc from that season). Most of the supporting cast (not the racers) spent most of the time just feeling worried for Hayato and Kaga while the two of them are only thinking about competing against each other and nothing else. I guess with the lack of any drama or overarching plot (like that in previous seasons), this is what happens...although I guess there is some minor drama in the relationship of Kyoko, Kaga and Aya; and the overarching plot here would be Kaga's goal of competing and overcoming his past and Hayato, but those just felt so bland. Nice to see Asuka and Hayato getting married at the end there. |
