What a horrific choice for lead VA, I've never heard something so wooden and jarring come out of a characters mouth beyond 90s English dubs. Was this just complete favoritism casting? What even the fuck...

watch kingdoms of dream and madness. Miyazaki didn't like regular VA's for the role so he chose something weird which fit suprisingly well for him. I think he was supposed to sound wooden. He's supposed to be a weird guy.
