The year of the discussion do matter tho, because the context is not necessarily the same.

In 2016, the only series of RWBY existing was the American produced TV Series (and the newly started Manga adaptation). That's what was discussed in this thread, and explain why it is not on MAL. Then, in 2022, a separate Japanese Anime of RWBY started, and is listed on MAL (https://myanimelist.net/anime/51381/RWBY__Hyousetsu_Teikoku).

The (still ongoing) 2013 series is not an Anime. The 2022 one is.

@Alexioos95 The series from 2013 is still an anime. The racist subculture of what to consider an anime is unreasonable as it would HAVE to be from Japan although there are American animes that have been considered anime, but not by all of course due to the location of where it was created and published, which is the specific anime I was referring to as well.

@Alexioos95 Yes lets pull specific parts of what someone says like someone from the news. Go back on X* Todd for the love of the everything. Stay in the past and stay off here. Whether you accept the facts or not, it is an anime. I'm not saying racist culture to down it, just factualizing it as it is legitimately discriminating on what can and can't be an anime based on its production location. You literally have a 0% chance on being able to prove otherwise unless you are willing to admit that shows not produced in Japan are anime which in turn will prove that the original RWBY is and always has been an anime. Hell if I still had access to my watch history of Funimation prior to recording what animes I've seen here, I'd be able to show off anime that has nearly identical animation and art style and if that's considered and anime then that can clearly point out that the original RWBY is too.

Why's everyone fighting? I just like RWBY dude... Can't we all just enjoy the media together and not fight? Like it doesn't have to be classified as an anime to be liked. Just enjoy it no matter the labeling. It can't be that hard to just get along can it?
