| It's discontinued. Just leave ur expectations. Madhouse won't pick it up again. Moreover, it's highly unlikely for other studios to pick it up as well. |

Madhouse productions are infamous for almost never getting a continuation, and with the changes made to the end of the 1st Season, a 2nd one would force them to either retcon their doings, or change the story. Continuing the Anime is also not a good idea for the publisher; the Novel went into a 3 years Hiatus not long after the release of the Movie, and even after it came back, the Author slowed down a lot his release schedule, with only 2 Volumes in 4 years, and announced that the story is almost finished. |

There is a few other cases, like Black Lagoon for example, but the majority of their adaptations does in fact not continue, despite being successful. That's more of a meme, anyway, what really matters is what the producers want to do, and more specifically, the publisher of the source material. There is no good reason for Media Factory to push for a 2nd Season with the state of the Novel. If they wanted to do so, they should have prepared the production at the same time as the Movie, back in 2017. |
