DTB2 ended with a lot of things that required viewers to guess around, as well as pray for a season 3. Let's throw some ideas down. I originally rated season 2 much lower than 1 for its ambiguities, but after letting it sit in the dust, only picking it up again do I want to talk about it again. Of course, I'm not trying to explain the entire ending, but I do want to see if people see what I'm seeing after this time, or did all along.

Izanagi is July.

1) August 7 calls him an "evolving doll."

2) July gains a degree of emotion, solely from the help of a human turned contractor - seem familiar? Remember Hei and Yin?

3) The little male child in the end of the series looks like a cross of July and Yin.

4) The new earth is considered a new gate. Or at least, a gate is opened to this new world. It is even considered an Ark.

5) If heaven's gate takes something away from you, but gives you something in return, then its purpose is sacrifice.

6) If hell's gate grants you something, but takes something away, it is then wishing.

7) The Mikata Records say that Izanagi will meet Izanami at the bottom of a false sea. When they meet, heaven and hell will split, and the Gate of Hell (Hell's Gate) will open. Essentially, strife continues forever because the two will create a new being. The last character in the coffin looks like a mix between Yin and July. I am guessing.

8) I am guessing Hei used his electricity, that can even change molecular structures of things, to split Yin and Izanami up. July dies, because he wishes to be with Suou. He loses his body, because he's going to the other world that happens when the two entities meet.

9) It seems Izanami possesses what would be the ex-Izanagi's body, and roams a now forsaken earth. The new world, the copy, seems to be a world without this strife.

10) Hei could have killed Yin, or left her alone. Since Hei was kept by Amber to make the third choice, the split is a consideration. Allow a materialized Izanami, while saving Yin.

11) Since the whole Izanagi and Izanami thing is based off Japanese creation myth, why couldn't contractors and dolls be essentially Shinto spirits? Somewhat emotionless - non-human in a sense. Cannot dream. Things that gods do not do.
