Hmm... it really depends. I definitely liked Rurouni Kenshin's live adaption more than the anime, but less than the manga.

Nodame Cantabile's adaptation (live) I absolutely LOVED. Once again, the anime was the least loved (although that's not saying much), and he manga stood equal to it for me.

Black Butler I'm not sure how that'll go. They changed quite a bit.

The KnT live action wasn't very good. It was cute, but it rather sucked the life out of it. It was too dry...

I tend to love live-action adaptations because I always watch dramas (ALWAYS) so I'm familiar with all the actresses and actors beforehand.

When it comes to Korean adaptations of japanese manga, they never come out quite right. :/

One drama I would recommend if you DO like genderbenders like Hana Kimi and OHSHC is Coffee Prince :) It's korean, and it's not based on a comic (I think) but it crazy good. The cast is like a family.

I prefer anime, by far, but I'd welcome any live actions that don't turn out too painful.

I agree with lunarspectrum. I loved the live action versions of Detective Conan. I like anime but I prefer to read the manga. If the anime and manga are both good then i will read the manga and watch the anime.
This sums up the YuYu Hakusho anime well (paraphrased) “you can’t end a good party without someone on the floor.” Yusuke Urameshi

I can't choose between the two...

Why not both? I mean japanese, and taiwanese live action adaptations are both great. At least 99% of them are great. I watched a lots of live actions that I found out later they are based on mangas. For example Devil Beside You, or Kimi wa Petto (2003), or Bambino.
And I really loved the 20th Century Boys trilogy, the 2006 Death Note movie, or the Rurouni Kenshin movies also. USA can't make such adaptations, they make lame, boring and irritating adaptation from mangas.
