New softcore anime fan here!

Hey all, decided to create an account here after deciding to step up my anime watching game.

I'm not really hardcore as I imagine many here are, but gotta start somewhere, right?

As a kid I enjoyed the westernized stuff. Dragonball, Pokemon, and YuGiOh, and didn't really know it was Japanimation at the time.

But one day I decided to watch a show called "Fullmetal Alchemist" on Netflix (maybe you've heard of FMA? :P) and fell in love. Watched it all, and the movie, then all of Brotherhood, which I just finished a month or two ago and decided to branch out.

I'm currently enjoying Durarara, Deadman Wonderland, DBZ Kai, Eden of the East and Baccano. I just finished Hetalia Axis Powers a few nights ago.

I really prefer a great story line in what I watch, though Hetalia broke that a little, but it's stupid comedy was a good mood perk.

Kind of random, but I'm not a fan of the use of robots or machines (such as gundam). For some reason it all feels like they're being cheap when people use robots....no idea why. Robots are real. Alchemy and Branches of Sin aren't....maybe that's why. The mystical stuff is what I enjoy, I suppose.

Anyway, I enjoy English dub....I've never had an issue watching it. I like Vic Mignogna, Sonny Strait, Sean Schemmel, Christopher Sabat, and Travis Willingham, though I don't mind Japanese with english subs as long as the story is intrigruing such as Deadman.

I've got plenty of stuff in Plan to Watch...I'm trying to keep from adding to that too much so I don't overwhelm myself. My Completed isn't too impressive either, but with time, that will change.

Anyway....I should stop now...I've already gotten carried away with a simple introduction.

I've never been able to put into words why it is that I dislike mecha series, I think that you sir have successfully done it. Also looks like you're picked some good series to put on your plan to watch list. Watching a lot of either highly rated of well-known series is a good way to start if you're a still-developing softcore anime fan. It's kind of how I started off a while ago and I'm still doing so today, but now I'm starting to get into some more obscure titles. Netflix is a great guide for people who aren't ready to watch subs and it has a lot of great series.

Harems don't exist in America. If one guy is constantly surrounded by beautiful girls, then he's probably the gay friend.
