I want a way to find good new anime's for each year or perhaps season. I have a hard time deciding which new animes to begin watching.

Thanks :)

In my opinion, I suggest you start watching the Anime people here talk about the most, as that's mostly the Anime that will be suggested for the current year/season, other than that, having a way to suggest some Anime to MAL community isn't a bad idea, as we used to have "Manga of the week" a while ago :)

This makes me think that a section in the 'anime' tab that shows a list of all the currently airing anime would be nice.

I know those pictures that show whats going to be aired in a season get posted around but some times but its hard to keep up with those.

That would perhaps be quite useful.

Don't know how hard it is to implement though.

Interesting idea, could be useful. Well, there is an advanced search option here on MAL which makes it possible to enter airing date (say 2010) and it returns a list of anime that air(ed) during that period. I suggest you try using that. Or just use currently airing search option.

For lack of a better solution atm, you can check these two clubs on MAL (if you haven't yet):
''Not Yet Aired'' Club
Winter 2011 Anime Group
They can be quite helpful when deciding what to watch in the current and upcoming seasons.
This one is not bad either. It shows which fansubbing groups are/will be working on which show and with a bit of knowledge about those groups and what kind of anime they tend to pick you can figure out which shows could be appealing to you.

The MALUpdater program from what I recall allows you to see what season an series is apart of. You might be able to get a full list of anime that airs this season through it, although you would need to check that for yourself.

I tend to read various sources too, one blog I read is randomc which gives details, video etc... for season previews.

Are you talking about clicking on top anime, and then just being able to divide it into years, and then choosing Winter/Spring/Summer/Fall, and only listing those shows?
