Which later she finds out attends the new middle school she just started. After school she meets a seriously screwed up woman. Hibari protects Densuke from her trying to abduct him. Densuke shoots a beam out into the sky summoning another woman protecting Hibari. Hibari Suspects the older woman is her. |

| I know this will probably be a very mediocre anime but there are a few reasons why I've become attached to the idea of watching it for many years. In the country I grew up in, there was a cable TV channel that aired dubbed anime and it's one of the main reasons why i'm a fan of the medium. But around 2002 or so, they started to air this show with the original Japanese dub and subtitles. It was the very first anime I watched in Japanese and hell, the very first time I heard the language in my life. That, along with the absolutely excellent OP and ED songs made me extremely interested. The quirky characters and dialog were also very interesting to me because of how different they were from western cartoons. However, I never finished it. It was something that aired very late into the night and the channel wasn't consistent with the order of the episodes, so sometimes they got to episode 8 and the next week they restarted it. After I started watching anime through other means I always got back to the OP and ED songs. And they've been on my regular music playlists for many, many years and I've always said "I'm gonna just watch it" It doesn't look very good objectively but I feel like it's something I owe to my younger, teenage self. And now, in 2025 I finally started it and yeah, the first episode wasn't great but I still had a lot of fun and it made me smile remembering simpler times from a couple decades ago. And God, those two songs. I close my eyes and can visualise myself in my room from that old apartment. |
