The main problem with Lazarus is that they didn't have enough episodes to utilize all their potential, and we didn't get an episode around Doug like we did Leland, Christine, etc. |

I wouldn’t rule it out completely, but I very much doubt that we would get one. The show doesn’t set itself up for a majorly plot-driven sequel, and I don’t know if Watanabe has ever done a sequel season for any show.
Adult Swim did supposedly green light two more seasons of Ninja Kamui, though, so I guess anything’s possible.

| It’s up to Adult Swim. Watanabe says he’s up for it. Basically, if they offer the bag, he’ll take it. I’m tending toward no on it getting a sequel, though. It was obviously meant to be a one-and-done. They’d probably greenlight a sequel if it had been a breakout hit, but it wasn’t really. As for where a potential sequel could take the story, yeah, it’s hard to top an apocalyptic threat, and going down to something lower-stakes might feel a little deflating. One idea is that this time they could face a cohesive organization instead of the random, unconnected individuals from this season. So, while the situation might not be as insane as the end of the world, the antagonists could be far more dangerous to Lazarus this time around. |

Lazarus becoming Lost Media would save Watanabe's career for the next generations, they need to never learn that the guy who made Cowboy Bebop became the most washed artist on planet Earth. If he doesn't retire now, I can just dread what kind of unbearable self parody of his own classics he will come up with. |

| @jerryiswatching I feel like the same could be said for plenty of anime lol. I don't hate Lazarus but I agree there are other anime that deserve a second season more like Akatsuki No Yona and God Eater. 86 I plan to watch soon. |

| @Quattuordecil Yeah, Cowboy Bebop was undeniably better. While Lazarus was overall enjoyable imo, compared to Shinichiro Watanabe's other anime it's the weakest (at least from what I've seen, don't take it from me). If you're new to him I suggest that and Samurai Champloo. |
