| Something else sad I just thought about: When the girls first arrived back in the present (the first time) and learned that the sisters had all been slain by that rival clan, they resolved to formulate a plan and intended to go back to implement it and try to save them, which they eventually did and succeeded in. But at that point in (I think it's supposed to be current year) 2025, that history had already long since transpired - centuries ago. Them changing their fate doesn't change the fact that it still happened to one version of a set of the girls. So that's ultimately at least once that the sisters died, on their knees, bound and tied up, executed in the dirt, hoping and praying in vain for salvation with Anzu calling out to Nozomi and the rest of the bowling club girls to save them. But at least in that first instance, they never arrived. They were all beheaded. Very tragic end for them, even if it was eventually "erased" or overwritten with a timeline change or the universe split off or whatever. |
