| All too often the seasonal shows I watch will include objects or dialogue of an unusual nature that were recently in my thoughts. Things such as words and figures of speech (lately it's the expression "hole up"), or obscure cultural references (the breakfast club scene in last week's panty & stocking) that I haven't personally encountered in years and only popped into my mind a while earlier. Also unlikely or novel behaviors or actions, etc. I say this half-seriously but it's like japan, and sometimes these corporate subtitler people, are reading my mind. I mean, I know everything in this world is predetermined but that never really explained the synchronicities which chronically pester my media consumption. By the way this isn't one of those "it was always there u just hadn't noticed it" deals, because I'm one of those freaks who notice and remember almost everything no matter how small. So anyway, I wonder if anyone else suffers synchronicites in anime or if it's just me. |

Imagine if every time you thought of something odd it would immediately start appearing in your anime of choice, to a degree and with a frequency that resists any attempt to attribute it to simple coincidence. Wouldn't you start wondering wtf is going on? I don't know how impress upon you the oddity of it. I guess you need to experience actual synchronncity enough to appreciate what I mean. it's not simple frequenecy illusion, if you think about it. |
