Am I tripping or is the movie too fast paced? It feels like there are many missing details

I thought it was just my feeling, because it feels like there are too many missing details. I checked the wiki for the character's plot, and it pretty much confirms what I felt.

Yup it was whiplash-fast but not too surprising since they covered all 83 chapters in under 2hrs 😭

@vaporkunst This anime has nothing to do with those 40 episodes. In those 40 episodes, they made up a lot of things that don't exist in the original manga.

@chocolate_moon I'm aware, my point was, whether you look at the 40 episodes of the anime or the 80 chapters of the manga, that it's a long story that couldn't possibly work in one movie without being rushed.

This movie is like The Promised Neverland 2, right down to its ending.

@chocolate_moon And the anime is better for it - the manga is messy and unfocused at times with loads of characters who are ultimately irrelevant.

The only thing I felt like was missing was stuff with Marie Antoinette. The rest felt like Blue giant, sure, there's stuff that they obviously had to cut, but it still didn't impact my feeling for the story.

I wish I watched the classic The Rose of Versailles before watching this movie...

Should've been a TV remake. What were they thinking making it a one-off movie and making it a rushed adaptation? Such a dumb move. They should only make movie adaptations if the source material is short. The manga of this is too long to be made into a one-off movie. A TV remake would've given it better pacing.
