So the series is over. It's common to lie, to ignore when a series is bad or subpar when it ends, but I won't do that. A magnificent finale. However, the series should have ended a long time ago, as we've had a series of pointless chapters where not only did Kiyo become an extra character, but they also went around in circles, noneless I enjoyed most of my read.

In the final chapters, the author sealed the Kiyo/Kenta pairing with that shine. Kiyo finally considered it something more, and it's something I'm happy about, not because it was my favorite couple, but because I'm used to the popular couple changing and the characters' feelings simply shifting for no reason. I feel bad for Sumire, but she chose friendship over love, and that's respectable. If Sumire had become a Geisha earlier and the series hadn't gone around in circles so much, it would have been more refreshing with details of a Geisha's life like they did before with the Maiko, or more recipes or cooking details with Kiyo. Anyway, I enjoyed these final chapters. If you're curious, the Aomori toast that appeared a lot in the manga exists, as expected, but I didn't try it. Despite being in Aomori, it cost something like 660 yen plus taxes and I found it unbearably expensive, especially since I don't like bread that much. c: but it was nice to see it. The food in Aomori is delicious, and there was a lot left to see in the manga.
I like to post in manga forum when I feel it is worth it, so people will think. "Shit, is her again" or something.

People asked me where I read certain thing but the rules say no telling where did you read so maybe I am too boring for not saying? Or salty because you didn't check my profile that says don't ask because I hate people to ghost me after that. I love learning languages so maybe I did not read the manga in English.

that was cozy and comforting from start to finish. solid characters and development, with very unique theme and settings. not everyday you get stories with geisha and their caretaker. very educational as well. the pacing can be slow at times as well kinda repetitive, but expected for episodic SOL. the ending also pretty conclusive and satisfying as well. 9/10. one of better SOL series i read in recent year.

hmmmm i liked the parts about kiyo's cooking and the world of maikos but the love triangle was such a drag and kenta was extremely bland. the manga should have been shorter and just focused on what made it comfy (cooking and maikos).
