Did your worldview ever just kinda... get silent?

What I mean is like this: You believe in some sort of cosmic relationship or fate or destiny or like some sort of standard, basically you're understanding of the status of life and world, and just one day that worldview just... switches off and is replaced with an empty reasonless void?
Like you constantly see things happening and instead of just living with it, you just think "ah, another thing that just happened for no reason at all, I couldn't care less even more, it's not like anything ever happens for a reason. We are all monkeys playing with our feces in our own way, it's not that big a deal at all lol"
Basically I'm asking if you have crippling depression, like I do?

Eh, kinda? I used to care a lot about politics and the state of the world and stuff, and one day (or maybe it was a gradual process) I realized I couldn't do anything about it. No matter what I believe or want, at max I could only win a few debates against people on the internet; I could never change the world to be my ideal or anything close. So I became very apathetic to it all.

@Cielord not just politics but like everything happening in life.

My curiosity for spiritual questions has always been extremely low. I've never really entertained the idea of gods, and the few questions I asked myself regarding death were quickly put aside when I realized that the only way to answer them was to go see for myself.
As a result, while I did suffer from crippling depression for a long time, spiritual distress had nothing to do with it. It was just incredible stomach pains from drinking way too much coca cola.

Yes, and i have to make an effort so it’s not obvious to everyone around me the extent to which I feel it.

You mean you stop having interest in anything? That you feel like you live not because you want to live for any end in particular, but because you do not have a reason to just kill yourself? That you aware that you are alive for no particular reason?

That what it sounds like to me. From what you describe in the last few lines, it is depressing how you don’t have strong feelings about anything, and cannot find a reason to be emotionally invested as some people here. I think many people experienced that sort of existential crisis.

I already got over it by embracing indifference, or maybe I just got used to it and don't notice it anymore.

What I had that I saw as my future was ripped away from me but maybe I never really had a future to begin with nor any real purpose.

I mean, there will ALWAYS be an emotional side to your thinking, even if you believe that everything dances around to the tune of laws of physics and that humanity doesn't possess free will and humans cannot make a single decision in their life. BTW this is 100% true. I am one of these people who realized this is true in my early 20s. Ever since, I became less emotional about many things. But some stuff still makes me emotional. It's impossible to become truly numb.
