@Tanaka_Tomoyuki his reply comes as dismissive and obviously in a perfect world everybody deserves better but reality is about compromises is what im just saying so again the small wins count in this case

to me his reply comes as if we cannot get better vacation then there should be no vacation at all
@deg Uh, I don't think that's what he said at all. You're reading too much into it. But okay.

I had no clue this many answers were going to pop up about a question i curiously asked...

Unfortunately, i don't have much expertise on the anime industry so i didn't know they were literally animating the series while it was still airing. My assumtion would be that they were done, and just releasing the episodes in time when the date and time was right. This was just something i was confused about! I didn't mean any offense! I don't want anyone to work themselves to death and ofcourse i can wait a small while for the next episode to release it's no problem!

Thanks to everyone who commented though. Some were actually informative, without being toxic which i appreciate. I think i'll have to look into the anime industry more myself.

i mean hospital, supermarkets, malls, are open on vacations, it’s called having a rotation in your team, when a team takes a vacation the other team comes back from her week break, and the cycle continues

if they decide to ALL take a break on the same period no wonders there’s no release

@oataoa you cannot cut the number of staff and expect to release an anime episode on time

making anime takes a lot of workers to do

Of course rotation exist but I believe that everyone is supposed to rest after all it comes from a Christian religious aspect.
The 4 commandment: "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy."
Another example is that Jews are supposed to do nothing on Saturday to respect what's written in the Bible about God taking a day off after creation.
Religion apart I think that this come from millenary experience that's it's important to rest from a salutary point of view to improve the human body and mind. Just like a rechargeable battery.
The tradition is that you should stop and appreciate creation and sanctify god but as atheism becomes more and more popular it is changing to the fact that you should stop, take care of yourself and the people you love which is the opposite of always work, be absent and get stressed.
Japanese are notorious workaholic with a high suicide rates because of it a bit of this "mindset" can only do them good.
It's and advice that comes from the ancients if it works and is good for you, better listen to it.

Generally speaking, Japanese regulations have a moratorium on new episodes around the new year, which is usually from December 28 through January 3. It's generally a time when people aren't tuned into TV as they usually are the rest of the year. All two cour series are taking a break this week and it's not just Frieren.
