| @ejleon The series is a parody because Cid is taking the piss out of what should otherwise be a more serious/dark story. That doesn't mean it's a parody of edgy/power fantasy type shows, because it's very much an edgy/power fantasy type show itself, the existence of Cid simply allows it to fall back on the absurdity of the MC being a full blown chuuinbyu psychopath. The 100 girlfriends anime is similar, where it's a full blown trashy harem, but it's more palatable when it knows how dumb it is and pokes fun at itself. Also, the humor is super dry, so in the world of loud anime humor and over the top reactions, it's a bit of an outlier. |

@EdgyLord666 hm… first I’m hearing of that. Everyone kept saying he is a parody of Isekai characters. I didn’t get it. What you said more sense. Thanks for sharing.

Not really. The director and the producer of the anime themselves acknowledged how over the top his character is and how everyone are right with their opinions on him. So, if someone finds him funny, they are not wrong, if someone finds him exciting, they too are not wrong and if someone finds him infuriating, they are not wrong as well!! Basically, the representation of Cid's character was left open. So His character is as objective as it can get!! If you checked out the recent article of an interview, you'll probably look at this anime in a different view!! |
