The writing, pacing, character, and the voice acting is really bad. The only good part is the animation or the visual as well the character design, besides that is bad. Especially the pacing is so bad like there's some song that came out of nowhere, it's just bad. I am not hating the anime, I think the source material have some good potential, but the higher up in the studio really don't care about the LN and then the execution is bad.

Yeah I agree with you, the movie just felt really off at some points. I liked some of the montages, and I felt like the story and characters were good for the most part, but definitely nothing special. I gave it a 7/10

I liked the voice acting because they sounded more like Japanese people than anime characters but yeah the plot and other things weren’t very good

I did like it personally. I found myself enjoying the romance and the animation. I can understand it being nothing special though.

for me, it felt like half of the development was missing. although everything else was amazing, the film was just too short to fit romance into it. if they made into a either a longer film or show I could see this being an easy 8 or 9/10
however it's a 3/10

I don't care any other's opinions, but for me it's a solid 10 out of 10. I love this kind of genre. Sad and emotional, with hard to forget and depressing.

Personally I really enjoyed it. It’s one of the better movies I watched. I do feel like yeah the pacing was pretty strong and I heard they skipped quite a bit of content from the manga.

But I was still able to appreciate the movie for what it is and overall really enjoyed it. I get the feeling though that I’d love the light novel if I tried it

it's a 10 for me. enjoyed it way more than other anime movies. specially the characters.
and the VA work was great. they sounded like actual people.
romance was better than your name imo.

The movie needed another half hour of run time. As it is you could tell that it was a fantastic story cut to the bone.

I think the movie needs at least another 30 minutes for it to be decent, 83 minutes is too short for me to relate to the characters hence the underwhelming climax. Visuals and character design are good but nothing ground breaking. Sound design is great though. The sound effects are crisp and it's the strongest point of the movie. Voice actors are bad, they lack experience so the characters sound bland and flat all the time.

All in all a 7/10 movie.

Even at 2x speed this was far too slow.
Voice acting was adults putting on awful fake voices that don't sound like anything human. But that's far far too common in anime and video games anymore.

This is a textbook example of how you don't need to understand the language of the dub to know its quality, unlike English dub watchers love to parrot everywhere. Granted, this is apparently the first role of the male MC's VA, but it's still grating how he barely tries to put any emotion or range in his acting, pretty much like English VAs.

For a movie, art work & other visuals could have done way better. If it was a series, then these visuals would have been just fine but not for the movie.

As for dialogues & sound department, it was quite good atleast in English Dub.

Dammmm the movie does indeed suck.

The LN was so good, the movie it played in my head was a great experience. It didnt translate well to the screen, alot of story tellng was butchered.

Watched this at 2.5x speed and it still felt like nothing happened. Visually the movie is eyecandy, but apart from that it has nothing to offer. I can't imagine having to sit in a theater and watch it at 1.0x speed. Yawn.

I will review it for what they wanted it to be.

Characters; lost potential. They had some things to dig into. Father son abusive whole trying to force a new family. Living alone daughter who is disconnected.This is scraping the surface.

Story; QUICKLY DO ALL THE THINGS

Art: beautiful.

Music; nice

Pacing; characters appear and disappear. Backstory lightly touched.

Story; when it matters it comes through.

Voice acting; inconsistent. The running part felt like they had a 3 second clip on repeat at points..

Overall: lost potential. 6.5/10.

I am harsh because it could be so much more
