It's been years.....the manga also ended....so is there any possibility of it being revived as season 3 or a reboot?

there is a chance, especially with studio shaft animating a new part for quintessential quintuplets. they seem to be making a come back sorta, i want a new season so badly

Chances are close to 0, this anime will most likely never happen to see a continuation and i think thats not a bad thing, season 2 was a total disappointment...

The manga isn't that great IMO, but the anime was pretty good. But they would need at least 2 seasons if not more to cover the rest of the story

yes but they are now adapting parts that didn't make it in the anime / left over story. which is being passed to studio shaft individually now

As much as I would like it to be revived too I doubt it will return.

I'd love for it to be revived but without the heaps of filler that come in the manga.

Well, I think they adapted chapters up until the 12th volume and there are 25 volumes, so there is a lot of material left to adapt for sure.

Will it happen?
When so much time has passed already, I wouldn't be too optimistic, but you never know...

I'm actually wondering why this never got a third season. Is it because of low blu-ray sales or something? The Nisekoi manga has 25 volumes and has sold 12 million copies, which seems good. That's 480k per volume. While We Never Learn manga (which also never got a third season anime) has 21 volumes but only sold 4.4 million copies. That's 209k per volume. Not as good.

At the time the 2nd Season finished airing, there was just enough chapters released to do another Season of 12 Episodes, so the publisher probably preferred to wait a little bit, to have more leeway on their sales, especially as the Anime made them explodes, and Shaft was busy in short term with the Monogatari Series (Owari and Kizu) and 3-gatsu no Lion, anyway (and there is no way Shueisha and Aniplex would have dared to do a continuation without the style of Shaft).

A few months after, the Manga was already preparing for its final, so the best they could do, commercially, is the 2nd OVA we got; not too much to win at that point for them.

Meanwhile, Haikyuu gets a movie in 2024, despite the manga ending in 2020.

Honestly, I just think that shows like Nisekoi doesn't appeal to girls because of the fact that it's a harem, so it just doesn't have enough girl fans like Haikyuu does, which appeals to both the guys and the girls. So if a manga/anime isn't also popular with the girls, even if it has a lot of male fans, then it's not enough for it to get more seasons. A series has to have a large female fanbase along with its male fanbase to get more seasons, assuming the manga has enough chapters. And if it's a late-night anime, blu-ray sales matter too (though I'm not sure how Mob Psycho 100 got a third season, seeing that the second season got abysmal blu-ray sales).

Haikyuu did five times the sales of Nisekoi, and the Anime itself is a mega-hit too, so the comparison doesn't hold much; even if the publisher is reluctant, the others producers would do anything to convince them at this popularity. It's most probably not for nothing that the 4th Season was split cours and started to accelerate the pace, and that it was chosen to do Movies and not TV Series for the final despite having way enough content for it, too.

Just did some research, and saw that Nisekoi anime vol 1 of S1 sold 6,446 blu-ray and dvd copies in its first week, which means it was successful and profitable. So yeah, a big mystery why it never got another season, even if the manga ended.
