| What i've seen so far is mostly just slice of life stories (13 episodes), like dueling over who gets the last bowl of ramen. Does the series ever pick up and get darker or more serious at all? Do we ever get any real villains, like Marik in the original, or characters who can use shadow magic to take peoples souls. Does it ever get into dark fantasy like the previous series or is the whole thing just slice of life yugioh? |

| It does not get darker like other series. There are some mysteries but still they are all childish. |
| There is some plot but I wouldn't call it "better" or "more serious". The best things about Sevens are the slice of life vibes and a likable cast of characters. It's the series that made secondary characters duel each other the most and the MC was allowed to lose way more often than any other protagonist precisely because he didn't have to bet his soul every time. And I'm so fucking angry at Go Rush since it took it all away in favor or some stupid alien investigation plot. |
| Definitely watch it english subbed, but I would reccommend it for the humor. |
