Well, That's what I thought after watching the trailer and cover. The first ep really took me by surprise lol, It's trying to do something new in a most generic way I guess.I think it's going to be a fun ride!

I am fine with that as long as I don't start staring to screen with emptiness. Hope it is enjoyable.

It's not an Isekai. And while the premise isn't exactly new or unique, it will be good for what it is, I think.

Yeah, seems like your generic fantasy comedy. Maybe the execution might be better. No, even the execution is piss-poor.

It's not as generic as it seems at first glance, specifically a few things that come up later.
I'd suggest you don't read this as it's a massive spoiler but some people will want it anyway so i'll post it under spoiler tags, you have been warned.

Still as someone who's read the manga, this is in no way a masterpiece, but you'll probably enjoy it if you don't mind a average anime story of this nature.

That's the same impression I got from watching the trailers. But glad I got bored and tried out the 1st episode as it was well paced. They managed to setup a lot in one episode without it feeling rushed; Plot, concept, comedy vibe, connecting to characters, and the more meaningful goal of the protag which is understanding the mindset of the villainess... basically romance.
Just hope that doesn't change in the future episodes because, so far, direction is it's strongest suit.

I would’ve enjoyed this direction but how does it make sense that the first episode is the MC basically speaking /thinking directly to the viewer to explain his whole back story and the world? Does that mean he knows he is in the anime and that we’re watching him? That kind of narration doesn’t make sense to me

The exposition dumps are horrible and it goes for majority of the first episode.

I’m glad someone else agrees with me on this, nobody seems to be bothered by illogical narration just to inform the viewer.. if the 4th wall is broken then make it consistent and known (Saiki K, Gintama) instead of how this was handled, now I can’t buy into the rest of the story
just my opinion of course

Yeah, looking at the discussions here seems like people just want to get all the information and not necessarily care about the way in which it is presented (which is fine, I guess, I mean no judgements here) but yeah, this type of things really ruin the overall story or atleast lessen the positives for me. Although, it could be just because of me getting spoilt after watching Id Invaded which has my favorite way of doing exposition.

I think you are the first person I’ve seen who relates with me in how I feel about that lol. I 100% agree with no judgements and if it doesn’t bother you then more power to you, and like you said most people don’t even seem to notice. I just don’t get how the MC would be directly thinking straight to the viewer the entire episode when he’s supposed to be living through the story we are watching. How did Id Invaded handle the exposition? I haven’t watched that
