Not one of her best manga, but it's not bad. 4/10.
The translation is flawed, so I unfortunately can't appreciate the true meaning or dialogue that's being conveyed, but the plot is very fast-paced and their relationship has very little insight to how they progress through their first month together.
Thus, it doesn't have a proper frame of development, but who the character's are and how they feel is clear enough.
Albeit a flawed translation, if I understood correctly; Kiwako is a 28 year old virgin, who even though loves ballet from doing it since the age of 3, she's not successful in stage, and decided to quit before she comes to truly hate it.
In that time, she met her neighbor, who she fell in love at first sight (which wasn't clear at the moment, but only after she told the audience) ...I think she fell in love the moment he asked "It seems everyone likes you[...]" when consoling her after her older brother nagged her life decisions.
In the introduction, she's presented as someone with conflicting feelings of love and hate towards many things, which later revolves to her love in the story.
I think his demeanor is partly what attracts her also, or simple love of him clicking to her attraction overall which she's passionate to chase as something new she's never felt or had now that she's quit her love of ballet.
The men and women in her life bother her for pestering and criticizing her life choices, including her older brother and male (I think best friend or coworker) who may have feelings for her while being jealous.
The old man is insecure and lacks confidence, thus he doesn't progress their relationship even though they awkwardly starting dating a month ago.
Until she asks him and makes her feelings clearer.
It's an awkward execution, and doesn't have a strong build of plots to how they progress in their lives and relationship, but there are hints of what from this Mangaka in her realistic characters and conflict of life.
Although, this manga isn't well constructed, it's somewhat decent. |
