| and finally this insanity of a season is finally done- the amount of hysterical ups and downs i've had with this one, what with it's writing being both awesome and abysmally bad, i've laughed really hard at so many place too, and then there was that one episode i couldn't even finish watching on my own since it was so damn cringe- best characters, or like, the only really good characters were catman and 7-changer, but holy damn did that poor dude go out in the worst way, i quite appreciated the visceral death-scene of the airplane in the earlier episodes, that was beautifully made gore. the absolute mayhem going on with truck-robot getting "kidnapped" was pretty hilarious, and the way this season ended too, there were so many things they really didn't cover, the "goodbye" to the main robot felt rushed, and you don't even see all of the other ones- apparently 7-changer's spiritgem got revived, but we never find out what happens to the alien kid, or how the world will recover after the whole "energy sources" getting blasted open- there was no sealing those cracks back up either by the robots, so i guess several parts of the world now have gigantic ravines with lava down at the bottom or whatever? Seiji was the most infuriating character that could have been made a main; he was horribly selfish, never thought of consequences, didn't learn from his mistakes, he was unbearable from episode one until the very last 2-4 episodes when the season got wrapped up. TL;DR: horribly annoying main character human, the robots had no screentime and thus no character outside of the battles, the only two interesting characters were bad guy number 4 and 7-changer, there was no closure by the end of the season. |

| Holy cow was that Kouta's dog Mario, from Ex-Kaiser, making a cameo when the screen cut to the sewer?? All in all a great finale, but quite sad. Sevenchanger straight up dies. Doesn't go to sleep, like the other Braves, but just dies. Poor Yancha. And the Landers and Sabers didn't even really get to say goodbye. It was cool seeing Pinky one last time celebrating Da-Garn's victory. I really enjoyed Fighbird and Exkaiser, but Da-Garn is probably my favorite Yuusha series that I've seen so far. While Fighbird and Exkaiser occasionally got a little too repetitive (especially Exkaiser), Da-Garn never really suffered from that and stayed fun and interesting throughout. The plot kept slowly developing with slight changes being made to the status quo every 4-5 episodes, making sure the series never felt like it got stuck in a rut. I really enjoyed the fact that Da-Garn himself took a short break in the middle of the series, which gave Ga-Orn some time to shine. In previous Yuusha installments the ancillary Braves never really got the attention they deserved, so this was a nice change of pace. Unlike the OP I also quite enjoyed Seiji. I liked the fact that he was a braggart and a smug little shit! xD |
