| The sparkling opening, police theme, early 90's art style, even the sense of humour are all giving me serious You're Under Arrest vibes. I never thought I'd be lucky enough to find another OVA like that gem, even if it's not quite so brilliant. I do love the subtle sense of humour in this show though, that beloved police sign made me laugh much more than it should. I sense a potential running gag there. Why didn't Yumi fight back once she knew what was going to happen? We saw her easily take a guy twice his size in episode 1. The nonchalant way that whole scene was handled kind of rubbed me the wrong way, that sort of thing happened all the time in the entertainment industry and a kick in the balls from a boyfriend was the most justice Yumi would ever hope to get for an attempted rape, and she was one of the lucky ones. The real victims never had a bloke hiding in the cupboard to save them, or heck even back her story up in court. Just their word against his, not enough evidence to convict, thanks for coming forward blah blah blah yada yada yada a lifetime of trauma and the scum move on to the fresh meat. Rape's a real shitty crime. |
