| Akito appears to have a serious psychotic issue which I'm surprised that the doctor in her midst does not able to detect that, or rather ignoring the fact or avoiding the issue. In our context in majority healthcare system, if not all, will acknowledge "prevention and early treatment" which clearly does not exist in Fruits Basket universe. |

I think the fact that FB started back in the late 90s is important, mental health wasn't understood or taken as seriously as it is now. Especially considering that this is Japan. It might be something with the Sohmas being isolated too, maybe they only have their own "in house" doctors like Hatori who would never speak up against Akito for fear of retribution. Or I could just be talking about bullshit and it's just a point that makes no sense, who's to say |

But the series is focused on the Zodiac animals and everything that surrounds them, and thus the dramatic plot and scenes. If we just look at it as a frictional story, whatever that happens seem to be acceptable. Obviously only in Fruits Basket universe. |
