Mi Lin sees a girl by the river and becomes infatuated with her. and they use finding the girl as a pretense for starting a war to unite all the villages of Spirit Mountain? and they're uniting all of the villages because they expect to be invaded soon by Dragon Kingdom when they seek to hunt down Kuiba? (this whole plot shift feel less abrupt and awkward)

Mi Lin is tired of the war and all the death it's bringing, so he pretends to have found the girl he was looking for. he had no intention of keeping her and was going to let her go back home after the war settled down. but, unbeknownst to them, their wedding has already been arranged. so on their wedding day, Mi Lin disguises himself as a bandit and kidnaps the girl from her own bridal carriage in order to keep his word and allow her to return to her home

...and he does set her free, but not until he shows her the migrating fish she mentioned earlier that she had wanted to see. he also gives her a big "bird and horse"(?) egg to take with her that he won for her at a festival thingy earlier. alright alright, all of that sounds fine.

at that point, as she's floating away on a boat, i start wondering if Mi Lin will never see this girl again just like he never saw the earlier girl by the river again ... and WHAM ... she travels through a portal to an entirely different "realm"(?) altogether? *AND* she turns into the original girl at the river that we saw at the beginning of the episode!!!! it appears she has been sent to track down Kuiba (though i'm not sure who sent her or she she *actually* is). love is budding between Mi Lin and the girl (i think)

as the episode ends, the egg starts to hatch haha

honestly, didn't think this episode was anything special until the end. but now i want to know what happens next!

bonus: um, what was that green person that Mi Lin talked to? there are animal people in this? what were those giant birds they were riding? are those what "bird horses" are? i didn't know any of these people or animals existed in this "world"
