Why did Sakuragi give the letter to Ishihara?

I'm currently watching Rainbow & I'm a bit confused as to why Bro gave the note to Why did Sakuragi give the letter to Ishihara? Doesn't that mean the evidence to have him locked up is now gone? I just don't get why Bro would do that.

That needs to be explained?
He took mercy on ishihara's pathetic side and just wanted him to leave him and his friends alone. It was also mario's first match that day and he was too desperate not to miss it.

This was the biggest mistake made in the show in my opinion. There was no guarantee that Ishihara would leave them alone and he even got stabbed afterwards. He might have survived if he had at least dealt with him in some way.
