| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- The premise of this manga interested me very much since I haven't really seen anything that portrays autism in-depth. I only have surface-level knowledge of the topic so I went in expecting to learn a lot and I did. Right at the first chapter, I've already felt immensely empathetic towards Sachiko as she struggles to get her son to even notice her to no avail while everyone around her fails to understand his condition and blaming her for his delayed development. It's as if I can feel a crushing weight of pity and sorrow for her on my chest. Parenting's hard but it must've been way harder for her. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing her understand her son more. |
