(WARNING: Long post ahead, please bear with me. I just really want to discuss this with someone to ease out my emotions. It's really hard falling in love or becoming too attached with a fictional character and then seeing her being hurt.)
So I just binge read Prison School for 17hrs in a span of 2 days and I've never had this much enjoyment and laughs in a really long time. It is so far the best RomCom-Ecchi manga I've ever read. I'm just a bit disappointed with the rash ending and the lack of resolution in the HANAxKIYOSHI relationship, though I love Hana's gloating in the end that she was right all along about the panties, with her face and hair drenched in piss and still rolling down her lips. Anyway it's obvious that I am team Hana (I fell in love with her right at the start of the pee saga), Chiyo is beautiful and all but quite frankly she is boring. Whereas Hana, though not a knockout beauty, I am always on the edge of my seat everytime she appears (I even read twice all the scenes in which Hana appeared). Her having a nosebleed instead of the guy is also cute, and I'm already tired of angelic characters so I love Hana being an antihero. Even if you remove the character of Chiyo the story will still be able to go on whereas the manga and story will not be the same if you remove the character of Hana. So in that respect for me Hana is more like the main female protagonist and not Chiyo or Mari.
So now on to the question. I personally believe that Kiyoshi is not really in love with Chiyo and it is Hana whom he truly loves. Here are my reasons for coming out with such speculation:
•I think Kiyo's feelings for Chiyo are just an infatuation that resulted due to her being beautiful and cute and being the very first girl in the school to talk with him. It's just infatuation nothing deeper. They don't even have enough moments together for a real love to blossom.
•For me it's obvious that Kiyo is really in love with Hana but he just haven't realized it yet (or maybe he already realized it but just don't acknowledge it, the guy's dumb when it comes to feelings.) Kiyo's actions, behavior and thoughts shows that he is in love with Hana. Isn't wearing Hana's underwear in a confession with another girl enough proof that he is in love with her? Hana's love for Kiyo is not exactly unrequited.
•His thoughts during the supposed last moments of his life are all about Hana and her kiss. I reckon that if you are at such moment in your life your last thoughts will be about the most important person to you, the person that you loves the most. And it was Hana that came into his mind, not Chiyo.
•During his suicide attempt when he wanted to have a boner he thought of the vice pres but it didn't have an effect on him, he also thought of Chiyo's whole naked body during the peeking and the slut Chiyo incidents but no effect too, he thought of Mari too and the Ouroboros venom sucking but no effect too. The thoughts of 3 beautiful and sexy girls and sexy things that he did with them didn't turn him on, not even a little. But when he started thinking of Hana he had a full boner right away. He never even saw Hana's breast or cleavage (Kiyo himself said that he is a breast man) nor her full naked body (the only time Hana went full nude they were under lots of futons so he really can't see a thing) and yet the thoughts of Hana had such an effect on him.
•At first he was just being coerced by Hana into doing things but there came a point that he already enjoys it (maybe even looking forward to his next escapade with Hana). I think he fell in love after the kissing escapade. The moments and experiences that they went through together caused them to develop deeper feelings for each other.
•Kiyoshi himself said that their date is a blast and that he can talk about anything with Hana.
•The fact that Kiyo can't be fully honest with Chiyo is proof that his feelings for Chiyo is just an infatuation. Whereas he's been honest with Hana right from the start. When he thought that she is cute she said it t her, when he wanted to kiss her he said it, when he wanted to kiss/lick her medusa he said it, when he wanted to know about the kiss after the ouroboros pee escapade he ask her right away.
•Their mind and feelings connects. During the Ouroboros pee escapade Hana fully grasp what Kiyo wants to happen by just handing the phone to her, even Kiyo was so amaze by it. They also mutually decided to wear each others underwear in the confession day without discussing about it.
•Their level of comfortability with each other is way too high: they can get naked in front of each other without being embarrass, they are comfortable wearing each others underwear and it even gives them strength to do things (the confession day is a point in case), eating food that Hana spitted doesn't even bother Kiyo, Hana even came to the point that being drenched in Kiyo's piss doesn't bother her anymore, etc. You cannot attain such level of comfortability with another person unless you truly love that person. It's hard to be that comfortable even with your best friends and blood relatives.
•Kiyo enjoyed holding hands with Hana and that is a thing that you don't usually enjoy unless you're doing it with someone you like. And Kiyo wanting to kiss Hana during that escapade shows that he is in love with her. If he wanted to kiss her out of being horny then he would have instead ask to kiss/lick her medusa or grope her breast or ass but no, what he wanted is a romantic kiss. He so wanted to kiss her that he was still going to do it even though Hana already warned him that she will kill him if he touch her and he even said "Please kill me". You can only have a kiss good enough to die for if it is with someone you love.
•I could go on and on about this but I think I have already proven my point. Hana and Kiyoshi have mutual love for each other.
