| I like what I like, and don't pay attention to/follow trends. I also do not judge people for liking an anime I didn't like. Often times, that will make me reconsider the anime, and try to view it from another perspective. On the scale given by the OP, I really don't know what that would make me. |

| Dunno where I'd fall on the scale. Maybe a 5? I'm not an elitist, and not a normie. I've completed about 200 animes, from many different genres. There are some popular ones I hated (Evangelion), and some I loved (Cowboy Bebop). I watch a lot of lesser-known shows just because they look interesting. One of my favorites is Mysterious Girlfriend X, which I wouldn't call a normie anime. I often watch ones from the mid-2000s, and don't keep up with many seasonal ones. I'll binge them once they are over. Memes sometimes get me to watch a show, because I love memes. Most TV I watch is anime, and I love discussing anything I watch / read (not only anime). If dub is easily available, I'll usually watch it over sub, but sometimes I don't like the dub VAs. I watch most stuff subbed because that's the only access I have. I like to compare versions, honestly. If people hate on my favorites, they can go ahead. Some of the stuff I enjoy is trashy, but taste is subjective. Besides, I can tell if it's trashy or not. I rarely drop an anime, which is why I like shorter ones (12 - 24 episodes). So... I'm pretty chill when it comes to differing opinions with other fans, have some non-mainstream taste, love discussions, and don't take a hard line in the eternal "subs vs dubs" debate. |
