I see a lot of reviews claiming the other Yuugi (aka 'Yami') is some psychopathic killer, and that people are dead because of him nearly every episode. That is simply not true. Those 'reviewers' were obviously not paying close attention.

What he does is show them dark illusions which result in temporary insanity and the victims returning to normal but toning down their actions as soon as the next day (for example, the female teacher), and yes, alive. Hell, even the other Bakura Ryou, who was evil unlike the other Yuugi, didn't kill people.

Furthermore, this only applies to those who obviously cheat or do not accept the outcome of the game, ala the 'Door of Darkness' opening (see the Capumon geek and the watch collector). Those who play relatively fairly are usually left completely unharmed, like in Daimon and Aileen Rao's case of the Shitennou.

The other Yuugi (this is how he is called in the show, by the way) is actually just as much a friendship-lover as the regular Yuugi or Naruto is, he just looks badass.

Actually it's pretty clear in the original manga he literally kills people, even this version of the anime is toned down. They're not just illusions, like the one where he makes the convict light himself on fire and the guy burns to death in the cafe. That guy legit dies.

Perhaps, but those reviewers I was talking about were referencing the anime, not manga. They are different media and versions, and in the anime I am confident that almost, if not all enemies survived. The "friendship," childish theme was very strong in the show so there was no room for dark things like murder.

Do they give bad rating because the main character doesn't follow a generic standard? LOL
