| I heard the new OVA in English was going to be released this year. Anyone have any info as to when? |
| looks like early this year for a Japanese release, but no word on Viz or anyone else picking it up for the US... will most certainly be Viz if it does get a domestic release, but may not be this year .. Ranma isn't the money-maker for Viz it once was and they may not be too eager to front a single OVA DVD release... could in the long run end up as a combo anthology along with the other new Takahashi OVA's or even a bonus on a re-release of the Ranma OVA box-set or even on an eventual release of the Rumic World OVA series. One can only hope it's sooner than later, at least we'll get a fan-sub soon after the Japanese release, which is rumored for later this month... we'll see |

Smith Passes Away posted on 2010-06-08 19:09 EDT Smith played Genma in Ranma ½, Kaijinbo in Inuyasha Voice actor Robert O. Smith passed away last week after a battle with pancreatic and liver cancer. He was 67. Smith had performed the English dubbing role of father/panda Genma in the anime series Ranma ½, as well as Kaijinbo in Inuyasha, D in the Project A-Ko OAVs, and other roles. Seattle-based Smith was an animation enthusiast, creating and voice acting his own comedic short animations under the name Thorndike Pickledish.
