It has already been 10 years, huh?

Thank you so much for writing this out.
Yes, the anime really just left us with vague implications via those short-handed flashblack sequences.

Furthermore, if she did somehow managed to avoid that certain extreme tragedy (which I genuinely hope to be true), how did she do so?

I've been going around sites to check for a definite answer, yet struggling to find one

So please, if anyone who has already read the LNs, do give us a factual elaboration regarding her past.

Would be a huge help.

Japanese sources all describe it as an unsuccessful attempt of rape. She escaped and tried to tell people, but they didn't believe it, and accused her of lying intentionally. It seems to be very vague in the Light Novel too, but hard to confirm without being able to read Japanese and buy the Volumes.

@Alexioos95 I see, Thank you.

Its fandom counterpart also has mentioning of this similiar scenario. So, I like to believe that it's highly likely of what happened. I really hope so. This thing just frustrated the hell out of me, tch.
Ryouko deserves better after every mess which she has been through.

Unfortunately, I can't read Japanese properly, so raw isn't an option.

It has been more than a decade, I think and still no hope anywhere for an official translation? Seriously right? I saw in a J-Novel forum that someone has made a translation request. The anime felt like it rushed the heck out of the original contents, leaving behind so much questions with that inconclusive ending. No justice there tbh. Those jarring tonal whiplashes, they just left me with bitter taste.

Perhaps, there are still chances. Even for a remake?

Sigh!

Anyways, thank you again for the reply. If you find out anything else, please do mention.

TC!
