The official website for the live-action adaptation of Tokyo Ghoul has revealed visuals of actor Masataka Kubota with Kaneki Ken's iconic one-eyed ghoul mask for the first time, as reported by Comic Natalie.
It seems the producers decided we weren't quite ready to see Kaneki actually wearing the mask, and instead we're treated to a half assed image of him simply holding the mask over his face. Yipee.
The mask, an original redesign exclusive to the live-action film was created by CHRISTIAN DADA designer Masanori Morikawa (it was announced that he will also be responsible for handling all other masks and costumes), who said that he worked together with the director, Kentaro Hagiwara, to make his designs a reality.
This mask will be on display at the 'Tokyo Ghoul Corner' at Jump Festa 2017 (17-18th December). Additionally, roughly two minutes of exclusive footage will be premiered at the event on the 18th. Details have yet to emerge about exactly what kind of footage is planned to be screened.
