If you are looking for a show that will definitely defy your expectations look no further than Puella Magi Madoka Magica. The highly-acclaimed series debuted in 2011 and left no one indifferent. For the sake of those who did not watch the show, we won’t go into details, but we will just say you will be pleasantly surprised.
The series was produced by Shaft and Aniplex with the story by Gen Urobuchi and original character designs by Ume Aoki. Madoka Magica was directed by Akiyuki Shinbo who created one unique series filled with hope, despair, and friendship in a world of magical girls, who soon realize that anguish and peril come with their newfound powers. 5. Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Good Smile Company Homura Akemi Movie Ver. Figure
And we are off with the figure of Homura Akemi that comes to us from the Good Smile Company. This Homura figure was released in September 2016 and it is based on the key visual of Homura for Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Movie, drawn by none other than the series character designer Aoki Ume. Wearing her magic uniform, Homura lunges forward with her hair waving in the wind. This figure was sculpted by Amato. The 19 cm (7.41 inches) tall figure is made from ABS and PVC. This 1/8 scale figure can be yours for only about 7,660 yen (~68 US dollars).
4. Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Good Smile Company Ultimate Madoka Figure
Next on our list we have another figure from the Good Smile Company. This time though, we are showing you the figure of Madoka Kaname in her Ultimate Madoka form from the anime’s finale! The sculptor Hiroshi did an outstanding job with the figure if we say so ourselves. From her long flowing hair to the universe in her dress and the budding flower bow, everything was masterfully sculpted and makes the figure look like it jumped straight from the show into the real world! Her stand shows the magical symbol that appeared every time she fired one of her arrows. This 1/8 scale, 33 cm (12.87 inches) tall figure, made from PVC and ABS was released in December 2012. 3. Puella Magi Madoka Magica Aniplex Devil Homura Figure
Saying that following Ultimate Madoka is hard would be an understatement but this next figure that comes from Aniplex surely rises up to the task! Released in July 2016 for the Wonder Festival 2016 (Summer) this figure of Devil Homura, based on the original illustration used at Comic Market 85 comes to take a central place in your collection. Miyajima Katsuyoshi sculpted this figure which shows Homura in mid-air supported by her feathery dress. Everything about this 1/8 scale, PVC Homura figure just screams high quality! Her feathery dress, her wings, stockings, face are all just beautiful and well done! The whole figure is a remarkable sight to behold. Homura comes with an alternate face and hand attachment and her wings need to be assembled from 3 different parts. This 26.5 cm (10.34 inches) tall figure can be yours for around 21,000 yen (~189 US dollars).
2. Puella Magi Madoka Magica Azone Devil Homura Hybrid Active Figure
If the Devil Homura from Aniplex is not your cup of tea, but you still want one Devil Homura figure for your collection, don’t worry, we got you covered! This time we have a 1/3 scale Devil Homura from Azone International and their Hybrid Active Figure line. The figure was released in March 2016. This 50 cm (19.68 inches) tall figure is as you have come to expect from Azone and their highly poseable Hybrid Active Figure line. Homura possesses an Obitsu body with S bust and a soft vinyl head, sculpted by Chizuru, with a wig. A real fabric dress, shoes and a dark orb accessory are included with this figure! Own it for about 49,545 yen (~444 US dollars).
1. Puella Magi Madoka Magica Azone Madoka Kaname Hybrid Active Figure
We finish our list with yet another figure from Azone International but this time we have a figure of the series’ protagonist Madoka Kaname! This 1/3 scale figure of Madoka in her Puella Magi costume, which by the way is made from real fabric, was released in September 2013. Madoka is 48 cm (18.89 inches) tall and has an Obitsu body with a S bust. Her soft vinyl head was sculpted by Chizuru. The head comes with a wig that is faithful to the show! The figure comes with a real fabric costume (as we have already said), shoes, Madoka’s bow, and an arrow of light sculpted by ZAN! Put this figure in your collection for approximately 110,030 yen (~986 US dollars).
