Yea I think its pretty good too.

Nachotee | Jan 15, 2016 11:04 PM
How come HaruChika gets such a low score? I thought it was at least mildly interesting.

metamorphius | Nov 16, 2015 11:39 PM
> the movies probably won't look worse than Sailor Moon Crystal

Now you're setting the bar too low. They have too look better by virtue of being movies. Right? Right?

Speaking of which, I wonder if that SMC sequel can be worse than the first season.

morshuwarrior | Nov 16, 2015 5:09 PM
There was also a PV released some time back and honestly the animation they showed in it was pretty damn good. Toei has a tendency to give movies a much better treatment so I have a little faith in it, but I won't get too excited.

Anything looks better than Sailor Moon Crystal, lol.

ZetaZaku | Nov 16, 2015 4:44 PM
On the bright side, the movies probably won't look worse than Sailor Moon Crystal and One Piece.

Nachotee | Nov 16, 2015 3:45 PM
Well that sounds like bullshit. It'll probably take them forever to release them (might not even release them all by the end of 2016?) so moving from a show to a movie really sucks.

Good ol' Toei schedule management. I wonder if they'll manage to ruin Digimon. I am not a fan myself, but I know a few people who will be less than happy if they fuck it up, so I'm anxious to see them rant.

morshuwarrior | Nov 16, 2015 1:31 AM
Back in May (I think), Toei announced that Digimon Adventure tri would be 6 separate movies, with the first coming out this saturday. They also said they'd be selling the BD's at the theaters so we'll probably see some RAW's online pretty quickly.

I do wonder how long it will take for them to release the rest though.

Nachotee | Nov 15, 2015 10:28 PM
What happened with that new Digimon season that was supposed to come out? Anyone knows?

metamorphius | Oct 16, 2015 10:13 AM
What small tex---oh, now I see it... Yeah, I used to do that thing with checking TT around the time when I just started watching seasonal anime, in 2009.

i just noticed the small text and it is good

It usually follows one of the following obvious patterns in action shounen, by permuting/mixing the following elements:
MC initial power level = High, medium, low/newbie
MC objective = become stronger in whatever art the series is focused on, wanderer/survivalist (no specific goal), the quest (specific focus)
MC background = Blank sheet, past vendetta/sins, etc.

However, the basic narrative structure is not an indication of whether the series is good. That's just the skeleton. The world building, the character relationship and the overall "tone" established by the series are important when working in conjunction. All stories can be broken down to tropes too. However, you have to examine more carefully why some are better than others (and it's not about breaking tropes at all)

Welcome to anime: The Animation

I mean, guy with no (apparent) powers in a world where people have powers suddenly meets someone/something that makes him somehow special.
That's been done a million times, and probably better. Just go watch Index. I feel like I'm becoming this cynical asshole but jesus japan fantasy shounens can literally be ANYTHING why would you write the same story over and over and over and over and over and over and over again?

wakka9ca | Oct 11, 2015 2:12 PM
Hidan no Aria AA is not a season 2 or a sequel. It's a completely different spin-off adapted by another studio. Instead of male MC you get more yuri action I guess.

Sakurako-san and Perfect Insider were really good though, different from the usual pattern. Asterisk has good budget despite average story. Heavy Object has good premise but horrible scripts. One Punch Man and the new Gundam are pretty amazing. Valkyrie Drive is the next Queen's Blade with an "innocent" MC instead of the slutty one. Fafner Exodus S2 is amazing as well but requires watching the boring first series and average S1.

Rakudai is not really worth it if you watch Asterisk already.

@mathes
Maybe I'll try Subete ga F ni Naru. However after a decent first episode
Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry took a massive turn for the worse, so I'm not too confident anymore. And don't blame me I should've known, I don't know the source material and nowhere on MAL does it mention harem and incest.

Nachotee | Oct 10, 2015 11:46 PM
Considering Hidan no Aria S1 was like the bestest spin off to classic detective books I'd say S2 is a must watch, specially for the pink-haired twin-talied tsundere sherlock action.

morshuwarrior | Oct 10, 2015 3:33 PM
I got a bit bored with Sakurako-san. Not sure why, but the visuals looked pretty fancy though.
For the rest I'm loving/liking all the shows I've picked up, although a lot of them are sequels or spin-offs. Hacka Doll is pretty bad though, I can only recommend it to people who like Trigger's animation, otherwise it has nothing going for it.

Kvakond | Oct 10, 2015 3:22 PM
How about Hidan no Aria s2? Should I return to anime just to watch that?

Mathes | Oct 10, 2015 4:49 AM
Based on first episodes I'd say Subete ga F ni Naru and maybe Sakurako-san are worth watching this season.
