If you liked the star gazing concept in Houkago no Pleiades, it is done much better in Starry Sky.

Cute girls with an after school magic club. Their outfits are also somewhat similar. Overall it has the same sort of feel/atmosphere, but with more comedy and personality.

"Stella Women's Academy, High School Division Class C³" / "Stella Jogakuin Koutou-ka C³-bu" and "Wish Upon the Pleiades" / "Houkago no Pleiades" are both slice-of-life series by Studio Gainax surrounding a group of young girls. The protagonists of the two shows have in common of being the newcomer to the group.

"Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!" / "Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE!" and "Wish Upon the Pleiades" / "Houkago no Pleiades" are shows involving a cute alien creature giving five humans special abilities in order to achieve something. The two series are both centred around a slice-of-life setting with an antagonist that is very obviously a friend of the protagonist.

"Wish Upon the Pleiades" / "Houkago no Pleiades" and "Urawa no Usagi-chan" are original series of shorts surrounding a group of young girls and were both made with the intent of advertising for something. In this case, "Wish Upon the Pleiades" / "Houkago no Pleiades" advertised for the Japanese car manufacturer Subaru whilst "Urawa no Usagi-chan" advertised for the location of Urawa City in Saitama, Japan.

Six Hearts Princess and Wish Upon the Pleiades are two magical girl series that seem to be made as some sort of special collaboration or something, as they both have limited episodes (or at least have some kind of irregular airing schedule) and have unnaturally fluid/consistent-looking animation. The main character is a pink-haired girl who meets a alien/fantasy creature and gets herself involved with magic.

Both anime are about a dence pink pure hearted pink haired girl who gets mixed up in collecting mysterious gems or crystles to ' send a strange cute toy back to there home planet ) Although in Nanatsuiro Drops he is trying to turn back into a human .

They are both magical girl type animes, and they have the same voice actress voicing the main character.

Both of these Anime are episodic Anime advertisements for car companies. They also both use very bright colors.

Magical girls collect magical fragments that hold immense magical power for a magical mascot character so they can go back to their magical home. Using magic. There's also more to the rival character than meets the eye.

So, finding yourself a tad disapointed with Houkago no Pleiades? Well, this season has a nother magical girl anime, though it is darker. If you are wanting Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica and want a quick watch, this isn't a bad choice, though it isn't the best of the genre.

Let's sell product through a cute little story. It doesn't matter if the people watching realize it is advertisement of sorts. What matters is that they enjoy it. Pretty much this.
